3.0.0: tap-to-deselect, scene preloads, restyled popup headers

2026-05-02

Selection is a toggle now. Tapping a selected hero, enemy, or spell deselects it — previously you had to tap a different element to clear the current one, which felt off on touch. The change is uniform across all three selection types so the rule is the same wherever you are.

Scene images preload during transitions, so the gap between locations is less likely to show a blank moment before the new background appears. In fights, the side panels pin to the screen when no enemy is selected, and a default enemy trio renders into the side area instead of leaving it empty — gives the field a consistent shape from the moment the fight loads.

Popup headers got a restyle pass to match the wider comic UI. While I was in there, the daily-rewards trigger had a bug where the tap target would drift after the intro tutorial finished — that's resolved. Activity cutscenes were also crashing on web because of a scene-hash write the web build doesn't support; that path is now skipped on web cleanly.

Apple sign-in is hidden on the web build (Apple's sign-in mandate only applies on iOS in App Store contexts, and the web flow couldn't complete cleanly anyway). The plumbing for a public web demo is in place — that build is coming next.
